Things to see at the park:
Yatta Plateau:This impressive lava flow, one of the largest and longest of the world (300 km long and 10 km wide), is lying along the Athi River.
Mudanda Rock:
Is an outcrop rock of 1.6 km long with a large dam at its base. There is possibility to walk at the top of the rock, enjoy the cool breeze and watch wildlife drinking in the dam.
Wildlife in the Park:
Despite the large size of the park, there is a great concentration of wildlife (especially during dry season) near rivers, dams and swampy areas. The park is internationally known for its large herds of red-dusty elephants wallowing in water of Galana Rivers and other permanent rivers. Vast groups of others mammals visiting ponds and waterholes are buffalo, zebra, rhinoceros, hippopotamus, waterbuck and giraffe. Gazelles and antelopes, from the dik-dik to the Oryx, are numerous. Lions are abundant and are often spotted.
Note that 1 km after the falls, is the Crocodile point, a large pool populated by crocodiles, hippopotamus and buffalos.
Aruba Dam:
built in 1952 across the Voi River, this dam attracts many bird species and migratory species.
Whilst in Mombasa Kenya Beach Holiday, take this popular full day excursion to Tsavo East to savoir the wildlife scenery in this world re-known National Park. You will be picked approximately 0530 hrs from your Beach hotel/ apartment and depart on your first leg of this wildlife adventure. Drive along the Nairobi- Mombasa road on a tarmac road for about 2 hours and then take a short break near the Bachuma gate for refreshments. Thereafter, you will enter Tsavo East National park and start our game viewing drive particularly searching for elephants, Lions, Cheetah, antelope and other animal species.
Lunch will be at a restaurant overlooking the Tsavo plains. After lunch, take another game drive within the Tsavo national Park to conclude this exciting full day excursion. A game drive as we head out of the park will bring the curtains down on a day you will remember for long time! You will arrive Mombassa in the late evening whereby you will be dropped at your respective Hotel/Apartments
